Hunters Point Blocks 52 and 54 are a single non-contiguous project of 112 affordable apartments integrated with a new market rate neighborhood. The larger site, Block 52, contains a rich non-residential program of social services for tenants and common areas, indoors and out, directed to the building of community.

The intention here is to build pride of place for residents and for neighbors with buildings which, despite extreme budget constraints, are stately, dignified and welcoming. Shipyard is a new San Francisco neighborhood and our design responds both to the crisp modern buildings of the immediate context and to the taut vertical proportions typical of San Franciso’s residential fabric.
