Five well-known architects were asked to team up with artists, each to design two artist-in-residence studios for a 175-acre public park and arts facility. Jazz composer Patrick Gleeson and artist Nellie King Solomon were collaborators with Daniel Solomon on these two identical composer's studios built into the hillside. High performance acoustics, acoustic separation from neighboring studios, and low energy use were important considerations.
